When is a t-shirt not just a t-shirt anymore? When it's designer adheres to the exacting principles, below:
-Use only organic fed wool and cashmere made of naturally fallen fur.
-Do not use material which contains harmful chemicals.
-Do not use synthetic fabric, if possible.
-Do not do any material work which may destroy the yarn’s contexture, such as mercerisation.
-Use only 100% cotton yarn because it is much more comfortable compared to synthetic span yarn.
-Make fabric with flying pick woven machine from 1950’s. This technic doesn’t damage yarn by using gravity. As a result, the fabric becomes firm and soft like being woven with air. Based in Tokyo, Fil Melange produces exquisite basics based on the idea of being "comfortable and nature conformist". All Fil Melange's t-shirts are made on vintage ‘Loop Wheeler’ machines which produce a seamless tube of cotton that allows the T-shirt to be made without any side stitching. All the cotton, yarn, and fabric used by Fil Melange in their products is also developed and manufactured in house.
