In an ongoing partnership more aptly described as a family reunion, cousins Shinsuke Tazikawa (Neighborhood) and Kazuki Kuraishi (CASH CA) come together again for the second installment of their Neighborhood x CASH CA Capsule Collection. Similar to last season's offering, the small, soon-to-be released S/S '13 range references the outdoors, and more specifically the sport of fishing. No Boozin'. Just Fishin'. The Neighborhood x CASH CA Capsule Collection for S/S'13 arrives at MILKMADE, shortly.
Our latest acquisition, Gypsy & Sons, has quietly been gathering a rabid following in their native Japan for their modern tribalist aesthetic along with its unrivaled quality and construction. Founded by Yoshichika Kato in 2010 and favored by the brass at BEAMS, Gypsy & Sons draws inspiration from the dawn of the 20th Century, when innovations in technology, society, and culture were developing at an unrelenting pace. Unburdened by the modern culture of immediacy, engineers and designers were free to labor over the details of their craft in pursuit of perfection -- a freedom and a spirit that Kato strives to recreate through his own work. Born to a suit maker father, Kato grew up surrounded by fabrics and factories in the small pre-expansion city of Owari-Ichinomiya. Once the epicenter of Japanese woolen goods production in 1960s post-WWII reconstruction, Owari-Ichinomiya is now home to only a handful of the heralded craftsmen who represent an era in Japanese textile history steadily eroded by the demands of mass production and the advent of chemical fibers and polyester. Undaunted, it is here that Gypsy & Sons makes its signature woolen garments that have earned the brand mounting acclaim, the world over. MILKMADE is proud and excited to be the sole US stockist for Gypsy & Sons. For more looks from past Gypsy & Sons collections, read on, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to learn when Gypsy & Sons lands stateside, exclusively at MILKMADE.
