Ready. Set. Search. From one of Milkmade's newest and most anticipated acquisitions, Garbstore, comes the truly innovative Unfamiliar Vintage Book Project:

"During the summer of 2009, photographer Tom Craig, actor Thom Browne and Garbstore-owner Ian Paley set out to produce six different photo albums documenting the shoot for the Fall/ Winter collection of Garbstore's Unfamiliar Vintage items of clothing.

The project follows the idea of Unfamiliar Vintage in all aspects, it pays it’s respects to the corners of the globe where the people who really matter to us both live, prosper and belong.

The books contain original out sized Polaroid style prints shot digitally. They are hand placed and annotated in a set of six vintage Chinese stick page photo albums. The books are made in pairs and during the summer will be hidden in three of the worlds best vintage markets.

The first pair hand written with Japanese translations also scribed, will be hidden somewhere in the vintage area of Tokyo, Koenji. The books will carry a price tag of only ¥100.

The second Pair will be hidden in Los Angeles priced at $2.00 each.

The final pair will be hidden at our very own Portobello Road Market for £1 each. Dates will be announced on our website, www.garbstore.com

Each book will have instructions about how to repatriate it with its creators. If they come back to us the sender will be rewarded."
