CASH CA DiAPLEX® Dot Tech Jacket
The first of CASH CA's Spring/Summer '13 is on its way, with a seasonal update to this winter's DiAPLEX® Tech Jacket. Intended as an all-purpose cycling jacket for the warmer months ahead, the DiAPLEX® Dot Tech Jacket employs similar fabrication to the previous season's incarnation, along with a few new design features. Among them are same-fabric elbow patches, double entry waist pockets, removable throat latch, and adjustable cuff, hem & hood. Our favorite feature, by far, is the split front -- when cycling, you can unzip the bottom of the jacket and fasten it to the front waist pockets for added mobility and comfort. The CASH CA DiAPLEX® Dot Tech Jacket is available now, online. More on DiAPLEX®: DiAPLEX® is made from laminated nylon, but the coating is different. DiAPLEX® doesn’t have pores; it is a solid film. This film makes DiAPLEX® even more waterproof and breathable than other laminated nylon fabrics. DiAPLEX® keeps you warm by taking advantage of how particles move. When the air outside is cold, the particles of DiAPLEX® arrange themselves into a solid sheet, forming an insulator and preventing the transfer of thermal energy from your body to colder surroundings. As your body gets warm, such as after exercising, the fabric’s particles respond to your body’s increased thermal energy. Their kinetic energy increases, and they rearrange to create millions of tiny openings that allow excess thermal energy and moisture to escape. DiAPLEX® has a number of important advantages over traditional nylon fabrics. Salts in perspiration and ice can clog the pores of traditional nylon fabrics, decreasing their ability to keep you warm and dry. But DiAPLEX® does not have this problem because it contains no pores. Because DiAPLEX® is unaffected by UV light and is machine washable, it is also a durable fabric that is easy to care for.
