Ever since our first shipment of Garbstore arrived a few weeks ago, the pieces have been garnering alot of well-deserved praise and attention. The Garbstore jeans, specifically, have become a frequent topic of discussion -- how they're made, where they're made, etc.. It's a rare treat when a designer of note gives us an insider's look into their craft and that's just what Garbstore owner & designer Ian Paley is set on doing. For the first installment of Garbstore's ongoing series delving into the inner workings & operations of the Brit clothing label, Paley takes us to the 'Indigo Farm & Laundry' where he's been honing his denim designs for over a decade.





For a [British] company, we choose to work on the other side of the world, it's more effort, more expensive but it allows us complete freedom to design and manufacture exactly the goods we want to. We use specialised Japanese fabrics that are bought in Japan and shipped into the factory, in fact all of our zippers are sourced directly from Talon…







Garbstore isn't about making [garments] in a particular place or in a particular country.  We manufacture in the best possible environment for the products we aspire to make. From using the right Union Special machine to hem our jeans to the best Kuroki denim woven to order, we know we are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the industry. -- Garbstore owner & designer Ian Paley
