A website that's been quickly rising in the ranks of my morning blogroll is The Scout. Co-founded by a creative consultant, web developer, food editor, and creative director boasting former ties to MTV, Epicurious, the Food Network, and Elle, The Scout cuts through the chafe & chatter to deliver a roadmap to the worthwhile in New York & beyond:
Unlike other city guides and online magazines, The Scout will feature reviews and articles by your intrepid team of culture-seekers who will weed out the mundane and the overly trendy to bring you the very best, the most unique, and the most inspiring that the city has to offer, with an eye to both the modern and the traditional, the high-end and the humble. Our writers and editors appreciate the craftsmanship of Danish modern furniture but still lust after a pair of limited-edition Nikes. We’ll scarf down a decadent deep-fried hot dog one night and indulge in a perfect chocolate souffle the next.
Featuring themed self-guided tours, restaurant and store reviews, frequent blog postings and in-depth articles and interviews, The Scout will become a trusted guide for readers looking for something original and uncommon. With The Scout, you’ll get customized, uniquely edited content that shares the stories behind products, events and their creators.
