Ever since I heard whispers, last year, of an Intelligentsia Venice outpost opening up the street, I've been satiating my Kurimi jones with weekly runs next door. Alas, coffee dispensed from an air pot in a Kirkland styrofoam cup is no substitute for Intelligentsia's seductive roasts brewed with "customized water", and served in a Chemex for two. There, I said it.
Well, the wait is nearly over: after a few construction delays, Intelligentsia's groundbreaking Venice location is scheduled to officially open its doors in March, featuring four innovative custom-fabricated service “pods” designed by MASS Architecture & Design, and even a DJ booth above the kitchen (pictured above).
