HARVEY FAIRCLOTH
April 1, 2009
The cat is out of the bag: Milkmade is proud to announce that we will be carrying the debut collection of HARVEY FAIRCLOTH, next Fall. I know, it's only April but you were bound to find out sooner or later. I came across them at D&A in New York last February and was immediately taken in by the line's impeccable art direction and timeless overall aesthetic. If the devil is in the detail, well then HARVEY FAIRCLOTH is undeniably diabolical.
Created by friends Katie Hatch--a longtime style editor at Martha Stewart, Abby Clawson Low--a former Senior Art Director at Kate Spade, & Mara Papa--an erstwhile exceutive assistant to a hedge fund founder who once "arranged to have an elephant shipped from Calcutta to California in 24 hours", the debut collection for Autumn 2009 draws its inspiration from "Alexey Brodovitch, Native American beading, The Seven Year Itch, the understated chic of Claire McCardell, the strange unexpected glamour of men wearing aprons, and the utilitarian whimsy of tin can toys. And above all, everything they've always loved to wear."
And the question you're all wondering: Exactly who is HARVEY FAIRCLOTH? Click here to find out.
