MILKMADE x Mitsuko Ikeno

SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A NUT SOMETIMES I DON’T is a selected body of work by Mitsuko Ikeno curated by interior designer Yaoska Davila. Ikeno’s glazed ceramic work is a wonderful synthesis of painting and sculpture. The pieces contain vibrant colors and sensual abstract shapes. Among the abstract work are porcelain/gold phallic-shaped bowls titled “Nut Bowls.” Apart from their sinuous forms each piece is adaptable to different contexts within the home. SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A NUT SOMETIMES I DON’T will be on view at MILKMADE from July 14 – Aug 11.
Born in Kyoto, Mitsuko Ikeno earned an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles (2009) and a BFA from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (2006).
