Caputo & Co. Leather Goods

Based in New York, designer Alex Caputo has created a line of small leather goods and accessories in partnership with the Guatemalan non-profit Comunidades de la Tierra, aptly named Caputo & Co.. The line features textiles woven by local artisans and helps to sustain employment and entrepreneurship in Guatemala's rural communities. You can now find a selection of Caputo & Co.'s bracelets and belts at MILKMADE.

Remi Relief

Spurred by his love of California, avid skater/surfer Yutaka Goto, injects a heavy dose of inspiration from 1970's California, the Z-boys, and beach culture into his Japanese menswear line, Remi Relief. Under the motto "High Quality of Life", Remi Relief creates "ultimate American basics" with a fanatical approach to textile development that is exceedingly rare outside of Japan, utilizing intricate dying, print pigment, and vintage finishing techniques.

Goto sites the writings of Meister Eckhart for the origins of the brand's name: Remi (or remix)= "modification"; Relief = "omission". The concept for the brand is derived from Eckhart's suggestion that something good is born only when modification is added to each creative process and excessive items are removed or omitted.

Remi Relief is new to MILKMADE for the Spring/Summer '12 season.

Steeped in knowledge and experience working for his father's company, producing equestrian products for the racehorse industry in Japan, Manabu prides himself on his adherence to a heritage craft and work ethic, making each piece by hand.
